  • How long will my waxing last?
    You can expect to be hair free for 1-2 weeks following your appointment.
  • Will my hair grow back thicker or darker?
    No. Hair that is removed with the roots grows back finer and softer over time.
  • Can I be waxed if I am taking Retin A, Renova or Accutane?"
    These medications increase the rate at which your skin exfoliates, so there is always a chance that a layer of skin is potentially removed as well as the hair. Please advise your Esthetician if you are on any medications. Treatments such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels and laser can affect the integrity of the skin.
  • How long does my hair have to be to get waxed?
    Minimum length should be 1/4" in length. Approximately two weeks without shaving depending on how quick or slow your hair grows.
  • Can I take advil before waxing to help with pain?
    You can take advil 45 minutes to 1 hour prior to your wax appointment to help with the discomfort, although not necessary.
  • What is the difference between hard wax and strip waxing?
    Hard wax is a stripless wax used in areas such as face, bikini and underarms. Hard wax is known to be more gentle than strip wax because it adheres only to the hair and not the skin. It is removed with a stick, no strip is applied. The area will be less red and less irritated.
  • What should I wear to my waxing appointment?
    Wear loose comfortable clothing for your appointment. Avoid wearing anything tight for your comfort.
  • What can I expect in a male brazilian wax?
    Similar to female waxing, warm wax is applied to the area using a delicate and thorough hair removal technique. The skin is held down tightly to help the waxing treatment to be carried out with minimal pain. Your assistance may be required.
  • How do I prepare for a male brazilian wax and what should I know?
    Understand that you're going to be exposed during the process. We can clarify any questions you may have prior to starting this service. Before: Trim Hair to 1/4" - 1/2" in length. Cleanse the area well prior to your visit. Wear comfortable clothing, nothing too tight. After: To avoid irritation do not go to the gym, do not use a hot tub or jacuzzi and do not plan on a romantic evening for 24 hours.
  • What if I get turned on during a male brazilian waxing?
    This is a great question! There is a possibility of being turned on. This is a physical reaction that sometimes cannot be avoided. This is completely normal. After a few rips of the wax you will not have that issue anymore. Your Esthetician is a professional and will continue to work like nothing has happened.
  • Is it safe to get a brazilian wax if I am pregnant?
    Other than feeling extra sensitive it is generally considered safe to have a brazillian wax up to 39 weeks.
  • I got my period the morning of my brazilian wax appointment. Can I still get waxed?
    Yes, just insert a fresh tampon once you arrive for your appointment.
  • Is waxing more painful prior to getting my period?
    Yes, it is best to have your waxing done immediately after you have finished menstruating.
  • How do I prepare for my spray tan?
    1. The day or evening before your tan, buff away dry skin with a gentle natural exfoliator. 2. Wax at least 24-48 hours before your treatment to allow pores to close. 3. Shave at least 12-24 hours before your treatment. 4. Moisturize generously, ideally overnight, the day before your tan. 5. Remove any perfume, oils, deoderants, make up, lotions, before your appointment. 6. On the day of your tan dress comfortable, wear dark, loose fitting clothing. 7. If you have long hair bring hair ties to keep the back of your neck and shoulders free.
  • How long will my spray tan last?
    Your tan will last for 5-7 days. Gradually getting lighter every day just like a real tan would. You can maintain your tan longer by applying the home based tanning products.
  • Will it stain my clothing or other items?
    No, since color pigment is not a stain or dye, it will wash out of any synthetic material.
  • Will my spray tan keep me from burning in the sun?
    No, you will still need to wear sun block.
  • Why do I look so dark immediately after my tan?
    The development of a darker color pigment noticeably eliminates any streaking allowing for a flawless tan. This color is neither a stain nor a dye. It is a naturally based organic color pigment that is temporary. The DHA (dihydroxyacetone) is what actually tans your body. The darkness of the color is for application purposes to ensure an even coverage.
  • Can I swim with a spray tan?
    Yes, the product fades but does not wash off.
  • When can I wash the product off after the application?
    The product must remain on your skin for a minimum of 8 hours. For optimal results we recommend to leave it on over night and showering the following morning.
  • Is spray tanning safe?
    Fake Bake has created a product that contains botanically extracted ingredients, it does not contain preservatives, it is paraben free, not chemically based and not tested on animals. It also hydrates and protects the skin without clogging the pores or irritating sensitive skin.
  • Will I look orange or yellow?
    The use of Fake Bake spray or the self tanning home care products will not turn skin orange or yellow and it will not streak. You will get a natural tanned skin tone.
  • What is Sugaring and how is it done?
    Sugaring is another method of hair removal. The product is applied in the opposite direction of hair growth and removed in the direction of the hair growth.
  • How is Sugaring different from Waxing?
    Sugaring is all natural and is made of water, sugar and lemon juice. The product only sticks to hair and dead skin cells.
  • How long does my hair need to be?
    The most effective length for Sugaring is 1/4" long.
  • Can I get burned from Sugaring?
    The sugar is applied at room temperature so there is no risk of burning the skin.
  • How often do I need to come for the Sugaring service?
    We recommend to maintain your hair removal appointments for every 4 weeks. This will also depend on the speed of your hair growth, but 4 weeks is a very good guideline.
  • Will my hair grow back thicker or darker?
    Not at all. Over time the hair will grow back finer and lighter. Coming regularly will ensure the hair will become thinner and more sparse.
  • Is there anything I need to do after my Sugaring appointment?
    It is important to keep the area clean and moisturized. To achieve this, we recommend using a dry brush prior to showering and applying a moisturizer after your shower. This will help prevent ingrown hairs.
  • Is there anything I need to do before my Sugaring appointment?
    The night before your appointment exfoliate using a dry brush prior to your shower. Moisturize after your shower. Do not moisturize the day of your appointment.
